Eliminate Debt

You should start thinking of how to eliminate debt if, your credit bills are piling up, you’re getting regular calls from your creditors and you’re spending sleepless nights in tension.
Steps to eliminate debt

You can eliminate debt quite easily if you have self-discipline and consistency. To come out of debt in a short time, you need to follow the 4 steps mentioned below:

1) Organize your credit cards: You should organize your credit cards in such a way that, the card having highest interest rate is at the top. If more than one card has the same interest rate, then you should place the card with higher outstanding balance at the top. Then you should calculate your total outstanding debt balance.
2) Prepare your budget: Based on your monthly income and expenditure, you should prepare a financial budget and find out how much extra money you can manage to pay off your debts. If you can reduce expenses on some minor things like, consuming less chips and chocolates, you can keep aside that extra money towards your monthly debt payment.

3) Start to pay in an organized way: You should pay the minimum amount to your credit cards, except the one with the highest interest rate. Whatever extra money you have in your budget, you should pay that extra amount to the card with the highest interest rate, so that its debt amount reduces faster. Once you have paid off your first card with highest interest rate, you can apply the process with the second card. Eventually, your monthly debt amount will reduce and you will be debt free in a shorter time.

4) Negotiate with your creditors: You can also negotiate with your creditors to reduce your total debt amount or reduce your interest rate. You can do this yourself or can take professional help. You can also go for consolidating your debts and take a new loan with lower interest rate and lower monthly payment.

It is important to resist your temptation to buy unnecessary things on credit, until you can completely eliminate debt. If you have perseverance and honesty you may become debt free in a short time.
